I resisted the temptation to post more photos of the green scum on the pond in Town Center Park East on 6th and I Street. Since the last post on Wednesday, nothing has been done. There are still broken glass shades on lamp posts, a raised electrical box on the sidewalk entrance on 6th and I, long grass, trash, and, of course, the mosquito breeding center floating on the surface of the pond. A resident has posted hand made signs on the trees warning about the mosquitoes and requesting that people call Tommy Well's office at at 202-724-8072 as soon as possible.
This may be of special interest to residents of The View at Waterfront and Waterside Towers, construction workers at Arena Stage and Waterfront Station, students of Southeastern University, and church-goers at Westminster who will soon be victims of the insect plague.

That park is owned and operated by the National Park Service. Thus, you might be better off taking your complaints to Eleanor Holmes Norton.
According to a previous post, the National Park Service recently turned this park over to the city.
Here is the transfer law
